ABOUT BEFORE WE LEAVE
You all know it, and you all love it, but let me recap anyway - Before We Leave is a city building game set in a cosy corner of the universe. Nurture your Peeps and their surroundings while rebuilding and rediscovering civilisation. Settle new lands and planets while avoiding hungry Space Whales. Before We Leave is available on Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, as well as Steam and Epic Games Store! Since its release in May 2020, Before We Leave has sold nearly 200,000 units and has had over 200,000 retail activations. Thanks for the support, everyone ❤
ABOUT OUR NEW PROJECT
This is the news so many of you have been waiting for!
Our new game (title tba) is a city builder set on the back of a giant whale who is flying through space. The sequel to Before We Leave, it will add new elements of discovery, and a poignant story, lightly told. Alongside our in-house team, the artists and sound designers that created Before We Leave are hard at work on the project, to create a relaxing and atmospheric experience.
ABOUT BALANCING MONKEY GAMES
In case you don't know about us, BMG is a small indie studio based in Ōtepoti (also known as Dunedin), Aotearoa New Zealand! and we’ve just celebrated our 5th birthday! We pride ourselves on taking care of our team, with a four day work week and flexible remote work for everyone (including contractors), and health insurance provided to our employees. We also enjoy connecting with the local community, including offering mentoring to students from Dunedin schools and Otago Polytechnic.
