"Some big news for Beyond These Stars"
We’ve had a busy week here at Balancing Monkey Games!
Not only was Beyond These Stars featured in both Cozy Quest and the Build/Design/Chill festivals on Steam, but we also re-released the Beyond These Stars demo.
The original Beyond These Stars demo came out in mid-2024, and since then, we’ve made a LOT of changes to the game. In the new demo alone, players can experience:
- Brand new buildings
- A system of unlockable perks
- A Player Guide to help improve your knowledge of game mechanics
- A greater impact on gameplay from building placement, greenery and pollution
- A completely new tutorial and vastly updated dialogue for the early game
- A new introductory conversation with Kewa, with more reply choices
- Player choices having more impact on Kewa’s mood and biome
Obviously, making so many changes (and there are far more than this in the full game!) has had an impact on our Early Access release date.
We’d originally wanted to release Early Access in 2025, but the hard work we’re pouring into the game hasn’t stopped yet, so we are delaying the Beyond These Stars Early Access release to 2026.
It’s been a hard decision to make, but we know it’s the right one and will help us make the game as special as we know it can be.
We’ll soon start sharing updates on some of the specific features that you’ll see in this new version of the game, from perks and player guide to toxic tiles and thorny stems.
