Beyond These Stars Release Date
First up is the biggest news of all, which our friends on Steam and social media have already seen: Beyond These Stars has a release date!
Beyond These Stars officially releases on 17 October 2026 (NZT)/16 October 2026 (CST)!
We are so excited for you all to see the result of our hard work and to play the full game.
Be sure to wishlist Beyond These Stars on Steam if you haven't already!
You’ll also find the Balancing Monkeys out and about at various events in the run-up to game launch.
gamescom 2026
Anna and Sarah hopped on a plane to gamescom 2026, where they had a busy but rewarding few days showing off exclusive game snippets from Beyond These Stars to members of the press from around the world.
NZGDC 2026
If you’re attending NZGDC this year, be sure to say hi to the Balancing Monkey Games team!
We’ll exhibit Beyond These Stars at Booth 83 at the Kiwi Games Zone, and our team will be at the conference both presenting and attending the talks and discussions.
As Chairperson of NZGDA, Anna will kick off NZGDC 2026 with opening remarks at 1pm on 01 October.
Then, at 10:15am on 03 October, Sarah will take part in the panel discussion ‘Production Roadmaps: Examples, Tips & Perspectives from 5 Expert Producers.’ She'll join other producers to answer questions like 'How will your team go from idea to shipped game?' and 'What major goals and deliverables will you use?'
PAX Aus 2026
Balancing Monkey Games will also be at PAX 2026, and are thrilled to showcase Beyond These Stars alongside games from other Kiwi developers with CODE, booth 1840, from 09 to 11 October.
Laura will also be taking part in the Games Writing Challenge at 10:30am on 10 October. She’ll join other writers and narrative designers based in Aotearoa and Australia for a panel with a difference, as they respond to on-the-spot writing assignments, share stories from the industry, and give advice to aspiring game writers.
