"We’re super excited to bring Before We Leave to a whole new audience"

Kia ora koutou katoa (hello to you all)! We’ve had a whole lot of stuff going on over the last few weeks, so it’s time for an update.

First and most obvious, you’re reading this in the comfy embrace of our shiny new website! Psychoactive in Wellington have done a wonderful job of making an awesome new home for us! We’re also going to try our best to have a monthly blog post and newsletter to get news and updates out more consistently.

But wait, there’s more! We’ve got all sorts of news to share:

  • We just released our Quality of Live update for Before We Leave. This time we’ve focused on taking feedback from the community and improving what we’ve got, rather than adding new content, which has resulted in a way smoother gameplay experience. The update has a hugely expanded tutorial that now goes all the way to the end of the game, a whole new Hint system to remind you of stuff that isn’t quite worth a whole thing in the tutorial, heaps of UI improvements and entire metric boatloads of bug fixes. You can see the whole list of patch notes (the longest yet!) on our Discord, subreddit, and Gamepedia.
  • Before We Leave is coming to Steam! You can access our page through this link. Go wishlist it, to help bend the mighty Steam Algorithm to our will. We’re super excited to bring Before We Leave to a whole new audience, and we’ve started work on yet another update for the release (it’ll release for the Epic Game Store version at the same time, don’t worry about that!)
  • The accessibility of Before We Leave is super important to us, so we ran some testing sessions with some local folk from the disabled community. It was awesome to get some fresh perspectives on what we’ve made, and we’re incorporating some of what we found into another smaller update that should come out some time soon - before the Steam release.
  • And last but not least, we have a new Roadmap graphic to visualise what we’re working on. Keep in mind we might make changes to what’s listed here, but we’re hopeful to implement everything listed here.

Thanks for reading, it’s a real pleasure to have you along on this wild journey with us!
